General Information
The Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS) runs all public transportation within the metropolitan area of Stuttgart. The region is divided into fare zones with downtown Stuttgart, the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and the University’s city campus in zone 10. In order to travel from Stuttgart airport (zone 30) to the city center / FABRICATE 2017, you will need to get a ticket valid for three zones. If you arrive at Stuttgart main station via train, a zone 10 ticket will cover travel within the heart of the city. The conference venue is within walking distance of the main station (550m). Tickets can be purchased from VVS/SSB counters at the main station or the airport as well as from ticket machines at bus, train or tram stops throughout the city.

Stuttgart Airport – Stuttgart City
Stuttgart main station (Hauptbahnhof) can be reached easily and quickly, thanks to good travel infrastructure. The main station is part of the ICE, EC and IC network and located in the centre of the city. You can continue your journey from the airport directly to Stuttgart main station with the municipal rail lines (S-Bahn) S2 or S3 (no changes necessary). The journey between the airport and the city center takes approximately 27 minutes.

Stuttgart Airport – University City Campus (conference venue)
If you are traveling directly from the airport to the conference venue, take the S-Bahn S2 or S3 to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). From here change to the Stadtbahn U14 (towards Heslach/Vogelrain) or U9 (towards Vogelsang) and get off at the next stop (Börsenplatz). Börsenplatz is a short walk (400m, 5 min) away from the conference venue (via Schellingstraße and Keplerstraße). Alternatively, you can easily walk from the main station to the conference venue (550m, 8 min.).
